City Range
City Range Steakhouse Grill opened its doors in Greenville, South Carolina on November 30, 1998. The contemporary upscale casual steakhouse made its debut amid immense interest from local residents and industry leaders. The restaurant\'s distinctive menu, venue, design, and service were welcomed by all. Guests are tempted by City Range\'s chef-created menu that is American, fired with contemporary touches that are as unique as the restaurant itself. It is described as \"combining the traditional with the contemporary to create imaginative choices, \" owner Cory Wilk says. House specialties include the aged Certified Angus porterhouse steak with a melted blue-cheese pesto crust, the B-B-Q Atlantic salmon, slow-roasted fork-tender top choice prime rib, and a southern honey pecan and gorgonzola salad.Part of the restaurant\'s appeal is the City Range building itself. The entrance is graced by a distinctive portico. Reminiscent of an historic lodge, the restaurant uses refined, yet rustic natural woods and hand-chiseled limestone to incorporate an appealing contemporary look. The 9, 000-square-foot restaurant consists of a main dining room, two smaller dining rooms and a bar/lounge with a total seating capacity of slightly over 200. Keep that in mind for any upcoming banquet needs. The restaurant offers a roaring fireplace that runs all winter long and a beautiful patio adjacent to the bar/lounge area for warmer weather. Either way, these settings present a very warm and homey feeling. The restaurant interior is decorated in rich earth tones, and its bar floor is tiled in a design reminiscent of traditional Native American patterns. Adding to the distinctive ambiance is artwork featuring photographs from earlier times of Greenville and other regions of the United States. These images have been transformed on canvas and painted in a contemporary style.
